Cloudflare

In this tutorial, we will be going through the process of linking your domain or subdomain that is hosted by Cloudflare to a Funnelish funnel.

Before you start

  • Decide whether you want to use the root domain (e.g., mydomain.com) or a subdomain (e.g., go.mydomain.com, offers.mydomain.com).

  • Know that www. is also considered a subdomain.

  • If you are using the root domain (e.g., myshop.com) for something else like a Shopify store, then you cannot use the same root domain for your funnels. You'll instead have to use a subdomain (e.g., go.myshop.com).

Manage DNS records

Before being able to connect a Cloudflare domain/subdomain, you need to have a DNS record available.

  1. Log in to the Cloudflare dashboard. Select an account and domain.

  2. Go into DNS and then into Records.

  3. Click Add record.

The next steps will vary if you are using a root domain or a subdomain.

Using a root domain (aka naked domain)

This method is only needed in case you want to use your actual root domain (e.g., mystore.com) as the entry URL of your funnel instead of a subdomain.

Using a root domain for Funnelish will replace anything else being used at that same root domain.

  1. In the Type field, select A.

  2. Input the symbol “@” in the Name field.

  3. Copy and paste this IP address “151.101.2.184” in the IPv4 address field.

  4. Make sure the Proxy status is set to OFF.

  5. Set TTL to auto.

Using a subdomain (e.g., go.mydomain.com)

  1. In the Type field, select CNAME.

  2. Input the desire prefix for your subdomain in the Name field.

  3. Copy and paste “domains.funnelish.com” in the Target field.

  4. Make sure the Proxy status is set to OFF.

  5. Set TTL to auto.

Make sure you don't have an A record / CNAME type with the same Name or the connection will fail.

It usually takes less than an hour to update, but sometimes it might take up to 24 hours. Once the changes show up, continue with the connection with Funnelish.

Connect your domain/subdomain to Funnelish

Once the root domain or subdomain is configured as explained above, head back to Funnelish and open a funnel.

  1. Select the funnel you will connect, then click the Funnel Settings icon.

  2. Under the Basic settings section, click Connect a new domain and input your domain/subdomain. If you have connected the subdomain, then make sure to write it down as it is (e.g., go.mydomain.com) If you have connected the root domain, then add the naked domain as it is (e.g., mydomain.com) without any www…

  3. Click Connect and Verify.

  4. Once verified, select the newly connected domain/subdomain from the Domain dropdown and click Save changes.

If the verification process fails, try again after a few minutes (it could take up to a few hours in some cases).

If after a few hours the verification process is still failing, make sure your configuration is done properly according to the instructions above… If all seems in order, make sure to contact our customer support for assistance.
